About the Artist

I’m an artist whose creative journey began in middle school at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA). After transitioning to homeschooling during highschool, I had more time to dedicate to my craft, and art quickly became more than just a passion—it became a therapeutic outlet. It allowed me to decompress and escape the daily stressors of life. Every time I complete a painting, I feel at peace, and that sense of calm has been a constant source of inspiration for me.

Over the years, I studied at DAAP, the Art Academy, and had the privilege of working under local artist Beth Schott. It was through her guidance that I discovered my love for oil painting, and she played a huge role in shaping my artistic abilities. I describe my style as "painterly realism," where I love leaving visible brushstrokes in my work while still aiming to create lifelike, detailed pieces.

My art has been displayed at Strauss Gallery in Hamilton, in local coffee shops, and stores, and I’ve had the opportunity to participate in the Harvest Home Fair, where I placed in the top three with different pieces. Despite these accomplishments, I often questioned my place in the art world. I’m not a super artsy person, and my work doesn’t always have deep, hidden meanings behind it. This led me to pursue a degree in business management rather than attend traditional art school.

During my externship, I discovered a love for animals and became certified in dog training. Now, I work full-time in animal welfare, and through this career, I’ve rediscovered my love for art. I’ve found my true place in the art world—creating art for others. Nothing makes me feel more complete than making art that brings joy to people, especially when it has a personal connection to their lives.
